“I LOVE LIFE at Willow Ridge.”

Pat Anderson loves the convenience of living at Willow Ridge Independent Living. That’s because, when she needs to visit Palo Alto County Health System, all she needs to do is hop on her motorized scooter.

“For about six weeks this year, I needed infusion therapy after having an abscess removed from my back next to my spine,” explains Pat, who is 76 years old. “Three times a day, I would go for my treatment. Because Willow Ridge is connected to the hospital, I just zoom down on my scooter, and I’m there in three or four minutes. It just makes life so much easier for someone my age when your medical care is right next door. And going to the hospital on a scooter is fun!”

Pat, who’s a diabetic, has also used the physical therapy services at Palo Alto County Health System. “Because my legs are weak, I’ve had a couple of rough falls,” Pat says. “The people in physical therapy are
really good at making my legs stronger and are so accommodating to my needs.”

Pat also appreciates the safety and friendship she’s found at Willow Ridge, a senior community that features 28 independent-living apartments. “The people are friendly, and there’s always something to do,” Pat says. “I always feel safe here, and my family never needs to worry about how I’m doing. That’s a real comfort to me.”
